Markus Stockhausen

Markus Stockhausen is a trumpeter and composer known as a versatile border crosser. For 25 years he performed with his father, the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. As a trumpeter, he is in demand internationally. He has composed for the twelve cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Sinfonietta, the Metropole Orkest, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and for the North German Philharmonic Accordion Orchestra. In 2005 he was awarded the WDR Jazz Prize as best improviser. He gives courses on "Intuitive Music and More" and "Singing and Silence".
